1. Information Collected or Received

We collect and use your information below to provide our Services and to measure and improve them over time.

1.1. Account Information

When you create or edit an account, you provide some personal information, such as name, password, email address and photos. On this website, your name, description text and avatar are public. Others can see these information in search results and on your profile page. Personal emails are not published, but designers and property owners can choose public business email. Searching and viewing user profiles do not require registration. This means anyone on the internet can access your public information.

1.2. Designer Pages, Place Pages, Story Pages

Our services are designed to help designers and design lovers meet each other. Pages of designers, places and stories are public. The information includes:

  1. Designers’ and brands’ names
  2. Designers’ and brands’ biography
  3. Designers’ and brands’ photos
  4. Designers’ and brands’ business email (optional)
  5. Designers’ and brands’ website and webshop links (optional)
  6. Designers’ and brands’ Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram links (optional)
  7. Places’ names
  8. Places’ location
  9. Places’ introduction
  10. Places’ photos
  11. Places’ business email and phone number (optional)
  12. Places’ website links (optional)
  13. Places’ Facebook and Google+ links (optional)
  14. Stories’ title
  15. Stories’ content
  16. Stories’ images
  17. Stories’ authors’ name and avatar
  18. Stories’ publish date

1.3. Location Information

We may receive information about your location. We require places provide addresses and coordinates to mark them on maps. Designers can also provide their cities, though it is optional. These locations are kept in our database and are publicly accessible. We also determine location by using other data from your devices, such as GPS information, wireless networks, cell towers near you mobile devices, or IP address. These real-time locations will not be stored on our server so others cannot know the current location of our users. For example, in the map of places, we can show your nearby area.

1.4. Links

We track how you interact with links across our services, including our email notifications, third-party services and client applications, by redirecting clicks or through other means. We do this to help improve our services, to provide more relevant advertising and to be able to evaluate the performance of our services.

1.5. Cookies

Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our services. But we do not require cookies for guest visiting, such as searching and reading public content. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your web browsers. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our services. Although most web browsers automatically accept cookies, some browsers’ settings can be modified to decline cookies or alert you when a website is attempting to place a cookie on your computer. However, some services may not function properly if you disable cookies.

1.6. Log Data

When you use our services, we may receive information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, mobile carrier, device information, search terms, and cookie information. We receive log data when you interact with our services, for example, when you visit our websites, sign into our services, interact with our emails. We may also receive log data when you click on links. Our services use log data to provide, understand, and improve our services, to make inferences, like what topics you may be interested in, and to customize the content we show you, including advertise. Log data is saved on our server for a maximum of 12 months. It cannot be accessed publicly.

1.7. Commerce Services

You may provide your payment information, including your credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address, along with your shipping address, to complete a commerce transaction through our services. To facilitate future purchases, we store your payment information (excluding CVV code) and shipping address, which you can remove from your account at any time using your account settings. We consider your payment information and shipping address private and do not make such information public. We collect and store information created by your purchases made through our services. Transaction data may include the merchant’s name and the date, time, and amount of the transaction.

1.8. Third-Parties

We use a variety of third-party services to help provide our services, such as hosting our blog, and to help us understand and improve the use of our services, such as Google Analytics. These third-party service providers may collect information sent by your device as part of a web page request, such as cookies or your IP address.

2. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We use the information that we gather from you users in a number of ways. For example, if you purchase an item, we’ll share your shipping information with the seller; we could use your forum suggestions to improve our services; we use data analytics and work with certain third-party service providers for targeted online and offline marketing; and of course, we use your email address to communicate with you. We also partner with service providers and other third parties that collect, use, promote, and analyze information about Santakani members and visitors.

We respect your privacy. Santakani will not disclose your name, email address or other personal information to third parties without your consent, except as specified in this policy. We generally use the information to provide and improve our services and products, for billing and payments, for identification and authentication, for targeted online and offline marketing, to contact members or interested parties, and for general research and aggregate reporting.

3. Accessing and Modifying Your Personal Information

If you are a registered user of our services, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal information you provided to us and associated with your account.

You can also permanently delete your account. This will remove your name, description text, email address, avatar, password and settings. But this won’t delete public content you created.

Keep in mind that search engines and other third parties may still retain copies of your public information, like your user profile information and public content, even after you have deleted the information from our website.

4. Our Policy Towards Children

Our services are not directed to persons under 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we believe that the changes are material, we’ll definitely let you know by doing one (or more) of the following:

  1. posting the changes on the Site and Apps;
  2. sending you an email or message about the changes;
  3. posting an update in the version notes on the Apps’ platform.

Changes will be effective upon the posting of the changes. You are responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with any changes. Your use of the Site or App following the changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
